Planning Enforcement Officer
Planning Enforcement provides an essential, high profile and customer focussed service to prevent and rectify inappropriate and unlawful development across Central Bedfordshire. This ensures that we have the right development in the right place, creating a great place for our residents to live and work.
This is your chance to play a key role as part of our busy Enforcement Team with responsibility for your own area. With your knowledge and experience of Planning Enforcement work, you will ensure that investigations and assessments are undertaken in a timely manner in compliance with the Council’s Planning Enforcement Plan. You will help to resolve breaches of planning control and when this is not possible you will guide decisions on enforcement action, advise internal and external colleagues and represent the Council when required.
Your qualifications, skills and experience
You will have demonstrable experience of planning enforcement, ideally in a Local Authority, and the preparation of reports and statements for formal action and serving notices.
Excellent communication skills and an insistence upon high standards are a must to provide the customer focus that is required.
