Team: Planning Delivery – Technical Skills and Academy Team
Salary: £21,074 to £23,111 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours a week (day release for University studies)
Location: Based at Priory House, Shefford – travel required across Bedfordshire

The Council has an ambitious agenda with significant growth planned over the next 20 years planning for up to 20,000 homes and 24,000 jobs.
The growth will be delivered in four strategic locations, as well as some small to medium growth in existing towns and villages where services can support it. Our plan is about creating communities. This means planning for new and improved roads and transport infrastructure; and new community facilities and services, such as schools, nurseries, shops, sport and leisure facilities.

To help deliver our growth agenda we have created a number of new exciting trainee roles to join our Academy Team. These have been designed to give you a structured, supported, approach to developing your skills, knowledge and experience within a planning environment.
We are looking for bright, enthusiastic and highly motivated candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in planning. You don’t have to have any work experience or a formal specialist qualification as we will fully support you to achieve this. You will receive funding and support enabling you to study for a relevant qualification to become a chartered town planner.
To apply you will need to have achieved a degree or be on your way to achieving one, ideally in a relevant subject, and hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car as travel is essential.
