Wokingham Borough Council’s ambitious capital works programme includes a comprehensive capital investment plan to substantially improve the quality of life of all residents – investing in educational, community, leisure and infrastructure projects, Operational Property is at the front line of service delivery and management with a significant number of exciting and challenging projects to manage and deliver in the next few years.
The role of the Construction Project Manager is crucial to making sure this happens.
You will be joining a strong and coherent team of construction project managers, liaising with the contractors and consultants as well as having hands on involvement with scheme design and project stakeholders. We’ll look to you to make informed decisions, assess problems and the potential for improvements. We’ll expect you to actively assist the Head of Capital Projects to plan, coordinate, develop and implement the delivery plan for projects providing decisive leadership when necessary. You will primarily be working within Wokingham, but your time may be split between Wokingham and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
To join us, you will ideally need to meet the L1 Specialist job description and some experience of project management and the construction industry or public sector environment will be beneficial .It is essential that you are solution-oriented, passionate, enthusiastic and energetic and experience of working with multiple stakeholders, managing consultants and contractors and strong communications skills are desirable. There may be opportunities for career progression and development within the Service.
A clean driving license and access to a vehicle for site visits is required.
