Do you have the skills, vision, enthusiasm and drive we are looking for to help establish multi agency teams to provide intensive support to families?
Following a grant from the Department for Education's Innovation Programme Bracknell Forest has rolled out Hertfordshires ground-breaking Family Safeguarding model (which achieved a 49% reduction in the number of children with child protection plans) bringing together a co-located, multi-agency team with colleagues specialising in substance misuse, adult mental health, domestic abuse and access to clinical psychologists to address the issues that place children at risk of harm.
The newly qualified social work posts available are in the 2 multi agency family safeguarding teams, working alongside experienced social workers and colleagues with mental health, domestic violence and substance misuse specialisms.
In Bracknell Forest the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) is in place to ensure that all newly qualified social workers receive dedicated, consistent and effective support in their first year of practice, enabling them to approach their career in social work with confidence.
Recently we have made key changes and improvements in Bracknell Forest providing our social workers with access to better tools and technology from tablets and smart phones to Motivational Interviewing training and a resilience group for NQSWs. Our staff are our greatest asset and Bracknell Forest has an excellent reputation for development of staff, and encourages growth and internal career progression. All managers in Bracknell Forest are permanent staff and there are a small number of agency staff.
As a NQSW in Bracknell Forest you will apply what you`ve learnt to real situations while developing your skills and knowledge. You`ll be given your own caseload to manage carrying out practical social work tasks with the support of a dedicated supervisor, team and managers.
