Halton Trading Standards are looking for a FTE Trading Standards Officer/Trading Standards Enforcement Officer. Part time applicants are welcome for this role.
We are looking for a mix of skills across the posts.If you have at least 2 years recent experience working in a Trading Standards service and you can say yes to at least 3 of the following, we want you to apply:
- Are you experienced in Fair Trading enforcement?
- Are you Metrology qualified?
- Do you hold a Feeding Stuffs Level 2 authorisation?
- Are you an expert in product safety?
- Are you experienced in Fraud cases?
- Are you committed to protecting consumers in vulnerable situations? (If you can't say yes to this please do not apply)
Halton Borough Council covers the towns of Runcorn and Widnes, located in the North West of England, which have a combined population of approximately 127,000.
We are a stand-alone Trading Standards service within the Public Health Department, located next to our Environmental Health colleagues. Our service priorities are doorstep crime, safety, underage sales, scams and IP crime where there is a safety risk or significant detriment to consumers or local businesses. We have dedicated scams officers and we provide a consumer advice service, representing consumers in court where necessary. We also have an electronic email alert system called iCAN to warn consumers and local groups of scams, doorstep crime incidents and other useful consumer information.
