We have a vacancy for a Public Health Category Manager to work within a busy team delivering commissioning and procurement services within the Communities Directorate at West Berkshire Council.
Reporting to the Service Manager for Commissioning, the successful person will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have at least two years relevant experience of commissioning and procurement or able to demonstrate relevant experience within the public or private sector.
You will have excellent negotiation skills and be able to work with a range of internal and external providers to identify commercially sound proposals, and manage tender processes against a portfolio of contract areas. All tendering activity will be compliant with The Public Contracts Regulations (2015) and West Berkshire Council constitution.
The ability to accurately assess and interpret data is essential as well as the ability to communicate with a range of people both verbally and in writing.
