Public Health Consultant
Salary scale SMG2 £71,149 pa rising in annual increments to £85,504 pa including LW
We are looking for a Consultant in Public Health to join the Lambeth Public Health team.
This is an exciting senior, strategic public health role to influence leadership and decision making across Lambeth Council, the NHS and other partners. The post holder will apply their public health skills in a range of spheres and work with senior managers, elected members, and strategic and policy leads in the Council, NHS, CCG, communities and other statutory, voluntary and community organisations to improve population health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. The post holder will be able to work independently and with a high level of credibility, probity and accountability.

There are good relationships across the partnership with the NHS providers, Lambeth CCG and voluntary sector organisations as well as strong links to academic institutions.
Lambeth has a number of major child health and sexual health public health programmes underway supported by external investment. You will play a pivotal role working with partners to maximise the public health benefits, effectiveness and legacies of these programmes.
This permanent post is offered on a full or part-time basis. The post holder will need to demonstrate competencies to fulfil a generic Consultant in Public Health/Medicine role and will be the lead in several areas including Maternity, Children and Young People, Substance misuse, Safer Lambeth and sexual health.
This post would be suitable for someone moving into their first Consultant post as well as a more experienced Consultant in Public Health.
The Public Health team is currently based in Brixton at the Lambeth Civic Centre.
