Lambeth Adults & Community Services Department has  a vacancy for a Children’s occupational therapist  working closely with social work and health colleagues across Lambeth.

 

This is a great opportunity for a qualified OT with experience of working with disabled children, or seeking to work in this area as we will consider an occupational therapist with experience who would like to develop a specialism in this area. Highly motivated, you will work with other OT colleagues to develop the role to provide a responsive service to our diverse and vibrant community in Lambeth.

 

Initially you will be linked to another OT for peer support and you will be supported by an experienced OT practitioner manager. Opportunities to develop your Professional Development Portfolio are available, and the attendance of training courses & skill sharing within the OT team are encouraged.  

 

We have introduced new innovative ways of working, and there are opportunities to work your hours flexibly from home and in the office.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  •  Carrying out home OT assessments for disabled children resident in the borough. This will include functional assessments, moving and handling & housing assessments
  • Arranging the provision of appropriate seating, equipment & minor adaptations.
  • Providing recommendations for major adaptations, including Disabled Facilities Grant applications
  • Liaising closely with the Children with Disabilities Team, other agencies & professional
