An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance and Policy Officer in our Children’s Quality Assurance and Service Improvement Team. Creativity, ambition and a focus on people is what matters at Barnsley Council. Our award winning council is on an exciting journey of change in putting local people at the heart of everything we do. We’re now more innovative, more efficient and provide better value for money. We’re thrilled to have achieved Investors in People (IIP) Gold status for how we lead, support and develop our people so why not come and join us on our journey to a brighter future, by working together let’s make a better Barnsley for everyone.
As a Quality Assurance and Policy Officer you will help lead and support the development and implementation of the quality assurance framework within children’s services and you will play a lead role in ensuring the framework is embedded in business as usual practice. You will lead and support the development of operational policies, procedures and guidance for social care staff and where appropriate key partners, as identified through quality assurance activity, annual reviews, national best practice and new legislative requirements.
To join us, you’ll need a relevant degree, plus a good understanding of quality assurance and service improvement methods that will help drive improvement by facilitating audits, supporting inspection readiness as well as the development of policies, procedures and training workshops aimed at embedding good practice.
This post is also being offered as a secondment opportunity for candidates who are wanting to try something new, where they can contribute to shaping ‘even better’ outcomes for children and families across services by drawing on learning and experiences from within operational practice.
