Full Time Hours, Permanent Contract

Hertfordshire County Council is a leading local authority with a highly regarded Highways service. This is an exciting opportunity to work in our Highways Network Management Team helping to co-ordinate works on our busy network to reduce congestion and take a collaborative approach to delivery. You will have a key role in providing a high level of journey safety and reliability. You will also build strong relationships within the highway industry providing guidance and advice to colleagues and partner organisations.

We are looking for a Network Officer with a good appreciation of highway works, permit schemes and network management principles including an understanding of the relevant statutory instruments including the NRSWA, TMA and Highways Act.

You will also work with and support county councilors in managing highway queries that come to them from their local community. This will require investigation and resolution of often complex queries.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active individual to join the service that is an articulate communicator, a keen eye for detail and has good organisational skills

A full driving licence is required to enable you to visit sites and meetings with stakeholders.
