Fixed Term: 27.5 Hours per week, Scale 6/Point 26
Salary: £17,578 p.a.
We are a successful, high achieving, multi-cultural two form entry school in the heart of Shepherd’s Bush. We are currently seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who has worked with children experiencing developmental delay and other learning difficulties on a 1-1 basis or in small groups.
The role involves supporting a child with a Statement of Special Educational Need for global developmental delay. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a special school or with children who have profound and multiple learning difficulties. The role will be supervised by a specialist teacher and involve the delivery of speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and a pupil specific learning programme. You will also support the pupil for one day per week in a special school setting nearby. The HLTA accreditation or additional specialist qualification is essential. This is a unique situation but an opportunity to work in a new and creative way to meet the needs of a child with significant SEN in a mainstream setting. You will join a supportive community and be line managed by the SENCo
- Delivering a personalised learning programme
- Keeping records of child’s learning experiences and achievements
- Building rapport with fellow pupils
- Working alongside other members of staff and professionals to plan, deliver and assess child’s needs
- Liaising regularly with parents to share learning experiences and progress
- Contributing to SEN meetings.
