This is a full-time position but part-time applications will be considered.

About the Role
Our Adult Social Care Locality team based in Epsom is looking for a Qualified HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist to join their friendly team.
If you would like the opportunity to work with a variety of clients who have differing needs, this is an ideal role. These clients may experience a learning disability, physical or sensory impairment, mental health or be an older person.
Are you looking to develop a range of skills to enable you to undertake frontline holistic occupational therapy practice within a social care setting, build your professional experience in major adaptations, reablement skills gain programs, moving and handling assessments with the aim of enabling (supporting) our clients to live independently in the community?
Joining us, you would be part of a multi skilled team which includes; social workers, occupational therapists, assistant social care practitioners and reablement personnel. As a team we provide support to adults and their carers with eligible needs in a community based setting. This community based role would require you to carry out home visits mainly within your locality area and on occasion travelling outside of the county. Some of these settings include client’s homes, residential care and nursing homes and supported living schemes.
In return for your skills, we offer you a competitive starting salary equivalent to that of a band 6 OT in a health care setting, a 36 hour working week (pro-rata for part-time staff) with options for agile work practice with the tools to manage time. You will receive a structured induction programme and on-going career development and training to support in your continuing professional development. You will also receive regular professional and clinical supervision from experienced Senior OTs.

- Experience of working within a social care/health or community focussed multi-disciplinary setting providing care, support and advice to meet peoples’ social care needs.
- Ability to complete person centred, outcomes based and proportionate OT assessments including moving and handling risk assessments and major home environment adaptations.
- An in depth knowledge of medical conditions and the likely impact on the individual and ability to demonstrable knowledge of the impact of long term disability on the individual, carer and family.
- Continuing professional development. Applicants must have, and maintain current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and adhere to the HCPC standards for conduct, performance and ethics.
