Rotherham Safeguarding Adults Board (RSAB) are seeking applications from individuals whose passion, vision and commitment to safeguarding some of the most vulnerable members of society matches, and challenges that of our own.
The Independent Chair is a statutory role which requires a detailed understanding of Adult Social Care. This role requires an outstanding individual with proven experience of chairing complex meetings at a senior level, particularly in partnership settings, and who has a good operational and strategic understanding of the safeguarding agenda. You will ensure that the RSAB operates strategically to deliver its key objectives and functions as set out in the Care Act (2014).
The successful candidate will need to evidence they can:
• Provide strong leadership, strategic vision;
• Demonstrate excellent negotiation and influencing skills;
• Demonstrate experience in building and maintaining productive partnerships;
• Analyse complex information and provide robust scrutiny and challenge.
• Have detailed understanding of relevant regulations
• Have the ability to ensure all partner agencies in Rotherham collaborate effectively to safeguard adults, promote their welfare and improve outcomes.
The Independent Chair is accountable to the Chief Executive of Rotherham Metropolitan Council and will directly link with the Strategic Director for Adult Services. The role is for 17 days per year, with the potential for extra days if required (up to a maximum of 6 additional days).
Note. This is a tender opportunity. The successful person will contract directly with the Council and will provide the services detailed in the duties and specification documents and will contract under the Councils terms and conditions.
The fees paid for this role will be on a day rate basis. The annual contract value is estimated to be up to £10,200 (inclusive) based on attendance of up to 17 days per annum with the potential for extra days if required (up to a maximum of 6 additional days). The contract term is one year with an option to extend for a further year. The contract is "for services" and will sit outside of IR35. It is not an employed position.
