Brighton & Hove City Council Seafront Office are looking to recruit a Seafront Facilities Assistant to coordinate and oversee weddings and band performances on the historical seafront bandstand. You will also set up and monitoring the beach volleyball court and give admin support to the Seafront Office team and deal with public enquiries.

 

Main advert detail

The Seafront Facilities assistant is a key member of the seafront team. The post holder is responsible for the coordination and smooth operation of the beach volleyball court and open air bandstand, including weddings and band performances.

The role requires the moving, setting up and packing down of the wedding parties chairs, tables and decor. Although there is trolley to move the chairs from the storage to the site the successful applicant will need to be able to carry out this task without assistance and under their own supervision.

The applicant will also be responsible for setting up and providing a safe usable beach volleyball court on the sand court including; raking the court, inspect and remove any debris or litter and move equipment over the sand to set the net and court boundaries up.

You will need to enjoy working in an outdoor environment, have excellent communication skills, a problem solver, be customer focused and be able to work unsupervised. Additional tasks include answering customer enquiries, administrative support and cash handling.

You will work weekends, with days off being Mondays and Tuesdays with the occasional Sunday dependent on bookings. Weekend pay enhancements will be added.

Flexible approach to working patterns and environments - weddings & band performances are held at the weekends

Contract: 6 month Fixed Term
Hours: Full-time, 37 per week

Working 5 days out of 7 including weekends and public holidays.

£16,863 pa (£8.74) plus weekend enhancements
