North East Lincolnshire Council have a great opportunity for a dynamic HR professional to join the People & Culture team as HR Manager (Employee & Industrial Relations and Governance). The successful individual will bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise in dealing with employee and industrial relations. You will also be responsible for providing strategic leadership and management of a diverse team that delivers a range of functions to the organisation such as workforce information, systems, policy, payroll, pensions and continuous improvement.

Within NELC, the People & Culture team are going through a period of exciting change in which we are moving towards a new framework of operation structured around the EACH model (Lucy Adams).
What you need to know about the role
As part of the change in the People & Culture (HR) team at NELC, the HR Manager (ER/IR & Governance) role has been created to support the organisation in its desire to achieve its outcomes for its people and place.
Acting as the strategic leader of a diverse team you will ensure that our policies, processes and procedures are fit for purpose and enable the organisation to achieve its desired outcomes. You will oversee the development and provision of People analytics ensuring that our information enables appropriate decision making at all levels.
You will provide specialist advice on HR policy, practice and employment law expertise across all elements of the employee relations lifecycle including disputes, grievances, attendance, well-being and employment terms and conditions, acting as a sounding board for People and Culture colleagues and managers.
As part of the People and Culture leadership team, with a strong focus on continuous improvement you will contribute to all aspects of our overall People and Culture agenda and leadership of the wider People and Culture team.
You will be accountable for the smooth running of the payroll team and administration of a range of pension schemes, ensuring that legislation requirements are met.
What we need to know about you
You will be a flexible and adaptable HR professional able to work in an exciting and changing environment, with significant experience in a diverse and complex organisation, delivering across a range of HR activities.
The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of employment legislation and employee/industrial relations, across the full employment lifecycle, which will enable them to act as a sounding board to the wider People and Culture team.
The successful candidate will have a proven record of leading and motivating a diverse team to deliver their desired outcomes and contribute towards the Councils outcomes.
You will be able to make evidence based decisions and/or recommendations that take into account different options, levels of risk and potential implications across the organisation. In addition, you will have a track record of thinking outside the box when seeking solutions to people issues and think about these issues in terms of root cause. You will act as a catalyst for change within the People and Culture team and across the organisation.
