Our purpose built open-plan offices have recently been refurbished. We are located opposite the Sports Centre which offers a swimming pool, sports hall, gym, aerobics studio and café and Dorking Halls, which provides a range of facilities including a café, cinema, theatre and concerts.
About the team
We cover a variety of different functions within our team: we provide support to elected Members, the Council’s decision making processes and manage the Civic Office of the Chairman. We run all types of elections and referenda as well as providing the Council’s electoral registration services and we oversee Mole Valley’s emergency planning and business continuity functions. Additionally, the team runs the council’s corporate print and postal services.
There will never be a dull moment working in our team and being flexible and supporting each other is vital to our successful way of working.

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic self starter to join our high performing and busy Democratic & Electoral Services Team.
Whist the primary focus is to support the Chairman of the Council to effectively undertake their Civic duties, such as diary management and event organisation, you will be required to provide high level administrative support to the wider team. This will include supporting the delivery of all elections and the electoral registration service, providing cover for our post and print functions as well as supporting the emergency planning function.
You will be provided with on the job training and there will also be the opportunity for further development.
We are looking for a well organised and dynamic individual who can build effective working relationships swiftly and support the work of the team in a busy and interesting environment.
Educated to an a-level standard or equivalent, ideally with a demonstrable knowledge of local government and event organisation. Past experience in Local Government or similar would be a great advantage.
