This is an exciting opportunity for a professionally qualified Health and Safety practitioner to contribute to the work of the councils’ Health and Safety work program. Developing policy and determining priorities for the councils, you will support departments by monitoring health and safety performance, ensuring statutory requirements are met.
The successful candidate will have relevant practical experience in supporting a diverse range of service areas and be a Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. With good written and verbal communication skills, you will also be equipped to analyse and deliver statistical data. Experience in incident investigation, report writing and supporting liability claim responses including working with enforcement agencies such as HSE, Fire service, Environment Agency are desirable. Candidates with a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and Grad IOSH are particularly welcome
