Arundel House is a registered Residential Care Home separated into four suites for 18 Adults with Learning Disabilities. We provide a 24 hour personalised support service to individuals supporting them to live with a maximum of choice and independence, designed to meet their individual needs.

You will work a five day a week rota pattern with alternate weekend working, therefore a flexible approach to working alternate weekends, some unsocial hours and undertaking sleep in duties is required.

An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.
About the Role
You will already have experience of working with vulnerable adults and ideally some knowledge of work in a residential home or a similar setting, this role will enable you to develop your leadership and organisational skills.
In addition to the responsibilities below, a Senior Residential Support Worker will be key in providing advice and guidance to team members ensuring they have personal development plans to follow in line with our County Framework and meet the essential standards of quality and safety as required by the Care Quality Commission.
- Working with and supporting Adults with learning difficulties to create positive outcomes and promote independence.
- Direct practical interactions with service users; including cooking, personal care and engaging with the wider community.
- Being respectful of the cultures and beliefs of the people we support.
- Being resilient to handle sometimes challenging situations.
- Report writing and attending/contributing to reviews as required.
- Using IT systems to accurately record information.
- Engagement in planning, implementation and delivery of care plans.
You will have a working knowledge of National Minimum Standards (Care Standards Act 2000) and ideally a Diploma in Health and Social Care level 3 (NVQ level 3) or be willing to undertake this qualification.
With excellent attention to detail and communication skills you will be competent at keeping clear records and care plans, be comfortable with writing reports and following health and safety procedures.
