Reading Borough Council has an ongoing programme of maintenance to ensure our housing stock meets the required high standard. Due to an increase in work for both internal and external clients Property Services are looking to recruit a labourer to work primarily on the Voids Team.

We are looking for a labourer that is skilled, highly motivated and keen to work in a fast moving and constantly evolving public sector. You will need to be a good communicator with relevant qualifications as well as other basic skills and be able to demonstrate relevant experience within the construction industry.

You will be subject to a pay and productivity scheme and the team’s performance will be monitored against other sections and partnered contractors undertaking similar work.

In return you will receive a generous salary depending on skills ability and experience. You will be contracted to work a 37 hour week and you will be given 25 days paid leave rising to 30 days after 10 years. In addition a vehicle will be provided for work use.
