We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our existing experienced Shared Lives team. We are looking for someone who will actively work towards the development and growth of the scheme as well as holding a case load of carers and service users.
The Shared Lives scheme is part of a national scheme and is well established in Reading. Shared Lives consistently outperforms all other forms of regulated care in CQC inspections, at 96% good or excellent.
The Scheme in Reading is currently rated ‘good’ and provides care and support to adults with a learning disability but is expanding to include older people, adults with mental health problems, and adults with a physical or learning disability. The adult is placed with a ‘Shared Lives Carer’, who takes them into their home, supports them and shares their everyday life with them. They can be placed with a family full time, part time (day support) or for short breaks (day or overnight).
The Shared Lives team manage the initial recruitment of new carers and referrals onto the Shared Lives scheme, set up placements, monitor each placement and provide regular reviews, and provide ongoing provide support and guidance to carers and people using the service.
The Shared Lives scheme is a regulated service. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be sought from the successful candidate.
