About Croydon

Croydon hasn’t seen expansion like we are currently experiencing since the 1960s. We’re already well underway with some £5bn of investment that will be completed over the next few years. New offices, new retail, and new homes will provide well-paid jobs and high-quality accommodation for our rapidly growing population.

Croydon is a naturally ambitious council – so we’re looking for inspirational leaders who share our passion for supporting business growth and responding to local needs.

Strong partnerships are the foundation for the future. That’s why we’re constantly looking forward. We need to find creative new ways of working together with other agencies and the private sector to deal with the financial challenges ahead.

Because with growth comes increased demand – but also huge opportunity.

Chances like this only come along once in a generation, and our task, and maybe yours, is to shape a positive future for Croydon’s residents and businesses alike.

About the role

London Borough of Croydon Council - Spatial Planning Service – 1 Project Officer / Senior Project Officer in the Plan Making Team

Grade 7 - 11 (£28,356 - £37,098 pa)

The post offers a unique opportunity to work within the dynamic Spatial Planning Service, which brings together the disciplines of planning policy and urban design to provide a coordinated approach to planning and delivery of sustainable development, renewal and regeneration in Croydon. Although Croydon already has an up to date Local Plan, this is an exciting opportunity as the role will focus on its review taking account of one of the biggest growth agendas in London as outlined in the emerging London Plan and the considerable progress made with the delivery of the Local Plan 2018. The role also provides input to the Council’s varied pre-planning application service and contributes to other regeneration projects.

Applications should be submitted by midnight on 27th January 2019. For an informal discussion please call 020 8726 6000 and ask for Julia Dawe on Ext 64365 or Steve Dennington on Ext. 64973.

Equal Opportunities Statement

Croydon Council is an inclusive employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. We will be pleased to consider applications from candidates seeking flexible working arrangements.
