Do you have the skills to support vulnerable people, energise partner agencies and work nationally across local authority boundaries?

The England Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT) are a government funded Trading Standards team, hosted by Birmingham City Council. They work to identify, investigate and prosecute illegal money lenders, commonly known as loan sharks.

A vacancy has arisen in the team for a LIAISE Officer responsible for the development, implementation and management of IMLT Credit Union projects. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be expected to travel nationally across all local authorities including overnight stays.

Whilst the main office is based in Birmingham, this is an agile working post including working from home, with national coverage so applicants will be considered from anywhere in England.

The main function of the LIAISE Officer role is:

  • To support individuals and communities affected by loan sharks
  • To generate intelligence from communities relating to loan sharks
  • To work with partner agencies on projects that will stop people using loan sharks
