The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has recently undertaken a very successful recruitment campaign across its planning service and is now looking to appoint an Infrastructure & CIL Manager. The successful candidate would lead and coordinate the need for infrastructure provision and the Council’s CIL with all stakeholders and take a key role in coordinating the Council’s programme of infrastructure development and funding, working with internal and external partners.
We are a busy service making over 3500 planning decisions a year. Windsor and Maidenhead is an economically resilient and growing Borough with significant development and regeneration aspirations.
Located within easy access of Central London, it is an attractive place for business growth and investment. The two main towns have different planning pressures; there is the culture and heritage of Windsor and the regeneration of Maidenhead. There are also smaller towns and villages, many located in the green belt, where the pressure of development is of concern to local people.
This is a good place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London and the West of England, with the new Elizabeth Line opening in Maidenhead in 2019.
A successful candidate would need the skills to deal with complex strategic infrastructure issues and ideally a track record in a comparable position. The post will have direct managerial responsibility for the Infrastructure/CIL Team.
The post holders will also be expected to take a lead in developing planning policy and guidance in relation to infrastructure planning and other policy areas as the Local Plan and Infrastructure Delivery Plan are reviewed and revised.
If you wish to discuss this position informally please contact either Jenifer Jackson, Head of Planning on 01628796042 or Ashley Smith, Deputy Head of Planning, on 01628 796954
