Planning and Enforcement Officer Salary is dependent on skills and experience but up to £23,379 pa Plus lease car or cash alternative of £2,080
This role is suitable for someone with a background in investigation. Knowledge of working for Local Government and the Planning system would be an advantage as you will assist in providing a high quality customer-focused planning enforcement service which is responsible for investigating alleged breaches of planning control, pursuing the most appropriate and effective action to remedy these.
Key elements of the role
- Investigating alleged breaches of Planning Control and assembling site based and other evidence. Dealing with members of the public effectively and in sometimes challenging situations.
- Producing written reports under the guidance of senior officers on the approach to resolving breaches
We are looking for a person with:
- Experience of working in a customer focussed environment in either a planning environment or a similar regulatory function. Effective communication, verbal, written and numeracy skills.
This role requires you to visit sites in all parts of the Borough therefore a full driving licence is required. It is essential that you have the ability to deal tactfully with the public in sometimes confrontational situations, along with knowledge and understanding or the capacity to understand the legislation relevant to planning policy.
