Technical Assistant - 12 Month maternity cover
We are looking for someone who thrives under pressure and is a good team member.
Working in a small team you will be responsible for planning appeals, planning enforcement and tree applications.
You will process application documents and plans, producing legal documents, scanning files for web publication and entering details onto the system. The planning system is complex, with frequent changes by Central Government; concentration and accuracy are therefore essential.
Specialist software programmes are used for entering the details, monitoring progression of these cases, as well as being able to read maps and plans; a basic understanding of land use and the geographical layout of the district would be an advantage.
You will be computer literate, well educated with a minimum of five GCSEs at A-C (9 - 5) and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and ideally have experience of IDOX Uniform and Opentext document management software.
A good telephone manner is essential. You must also be a good team worker and prepared to be flexible.
This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
