Lancaster City Council are looking for 3 Casual Swimming Teachers to cover various swimming lessons and abilities as part of our Swimming Lesson programme.
You will work alongside other swimming teachers delivering the Council’s school swimming programme and the Council’s own learn to swim programme. You may be required to act as a support teacher and special needs teacher, but this will be dependent on qualifications.
Experience of teaching swimming and an understanding of the Amateur Swimming Associations National Teaching Plan for Swimming is essential. You should have good written and verbal skills and the ability to organise a swimming lesson for both children and adults.
You must hold an ASA Level 2 Aquatics Teachers Certificate or STA Level 2 Full Certificate
The following qualification is desirable;
- A lifeguarding qualification
As a casual worker, you will be paid only for the hours which you work. The nature of casual work means that there is no mutuality of obligation. This means that the Council is not obliged to offer you any hours and neither are you obligated to accept any hours offered. The Council cannot guarantee that work will be available every week.
This post is based at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre.
