Team: Emergency Duty Team (EDT)
Salary: £30,141 - £31,4587 per annum, pro rata + 20% shift allowance + MRS £9,500 per annum, pro rata
Hours per week: 5 posts available, 4 x 37 hours posts and 1 x 26 hour post.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within The Emergency Duty Team in Integrated Services. We aim to protect our region’s most vulnerable people. By ensuring their wellbeing, we’re making Bedfordshire a great place to live and work for all. Our Emergency Duty Team is on the front line, safeguarding people out of hours. You will be expected to have experience within Children, Adults and Mental Health. Full training is provided in all areas alongside a robust induction programme. AMHP Qualification is desirable, all candidates who do not have this qualification must be committed to undertaking this training during their employment.
The team is based in Ampthill and covers all out of hour’s social work emergencies for Central Bedfordshire, Bedford Borough and Luton Borough. Hours are worked on a rolling 8 week rota over 7 days, including Public Holidays. To see the shift patterns available click here
You will need to have:
- an excellent working knowledge of relevant legislation in, Children, Adult and Mental Health law and other relevant social care legislation;
- the ability to use risk assessment and other assessment skills when working with vulnerable service users out of hours;
- great organisational skills to enable efficient management of a busy work load;
- the ability to work both independently and as part of a team with a willingness to work flexible hours;
