Lambeth is one of the most dynamic and exciting places in the UK. The borough stretches from the banks of the Thames opposite the Houses of Parliament to Streatham and West Norwood in the south, via the South Bank, Clapham, Brockwell Park, iconic Brixton and the UK’s busiest station at Waterloo. With over 1400 licensed premises, bustling markets, iconic venues and public events across busy town centres, Lambeth is home to diverse, strong and engaged communities.

Licensing is at the forefront of striking the right balance between thriving economic growth and a well-regulated and compliant operating environment, and we are now looking for a Licensing Officer to join our Licensing team. The successful candidate will be required to deliver across the wide range of operational Licensing duties and responsibilities in order to achieve and maintain positive outcomes for the borough, our partners, businesses and residents. This includes case management, providing advice and undertaking inspections and visits. Key skills include an eye for detail, being well organised, strong verbal, written and presentation skills, the ability to work on your own initiative and the vision and ability to contribute to the continuous improvement and modernisation of the service.

Experience with licensing legislation and procedure and the ability to tackle and deliver a varied workload is essential. Regular working outside of office hours is required for which a 10% allowance is payable.

Successful candidates will be offered the post subject to Enhanced Disclosure clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service. Further information can be found at www.disclosure.gov.uk
