We are looking for a highly experienced and tenacious individual to fill this exciting and challenging role, which will require you to lead, direct and effectively manage a high performing, customer focused and cost-effective housing management and community service function to secure outcomes that help deliver to the councils’ objectives and maximise value.
As Service Manager for Housing Management and Communities, you will act as the professional advisor for the council on all matters relating to the councils 10,500 tenancies and 7000 leaseholds, plus have an oversight of all community related matters ensuring all responsibilities including legal, are met. This includes responsibility for community safety, community development, inclusion and diversity, safeguarding and voluntary sector grant funding agreements.
Able to constructively challenge the status quo, you will balance service needs with the requirement to maximise income, innovate and transform service delivery. We are looking for an exceptional person with an impressive track record across the full range of housing management and community functions. Your intellectual curiosity, passion for supporting communities and whole system perspective will also have led you to acquire additional knowledge and expertise in the social context of place making.
The successful applicant will be able to find deliverable and innovative solutions that focus on improving the lives of local people, turning them into realistic and achievable outcomes. They will have significant experience at a senior level of leading and managing large, diverse teams and will embrace opportunities for collaborative working to deliver improved outcomes.
