It’s an exciting time to join Camden’s Finance service. Following our accreditation as a CIPFA Platinum Employer, we are seeking a number of innovative, highly skilled individuals to contribute to the development and implementation of the Council’s Medium Term Financial Strategy. You will help drive our outcomes-based budgeting approach and deliver the best use of resources for the people of Camden.
We are seeking a full or part time Management Accountant to support Business Partners and Business Advisors in providing a robust and responsive financial service to a Directorate/Director/Head of Service/Budget Holder/Budget Manager. You’ll take a lead in financial analysis and reporting, providing finance comments on decision reports, collating statutory returns, and proactively identifying accounting opportunities as well as risks to provide the best advice to managers.
You will regularly engage with a range of stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships across both the finance function and front-line services, empowering and enabling managers and budget holders to resolve financial problems/issues in any given area(s).
We are flexible regarding whether the successful applicant will be full or part-time.
To be successful in this role, you will be AAT qualified, studying for a CCAB or equivalent professional qualification, or part CCAB or equivalent qualified.
You will demonstrate excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills, being able to interpret financial data and apply logic and judgement. The ability to understand and interpret complex legislative and regulatory frameworks that apply to local government is key to the role.
You will have good knowledge and understanding of financial planning, management and financial frameworks in a large organisation (revenue and capital) – preferably local government.
