The role -
The post holder will have a key role in enabling the council to maximise availability and functionality of IT systems managed by Financial Services, including the Financial Management System, Cash Management System and Card Processing Services. The post holder will be expected to research, utilise and share best practice in financial processes and system functionality to help current processes move from manual to automated for the benefit of Financial Services and its customers. The role will also include management of a small team, supervision of system administration tasks and liaison with officers within Financial Services and across the wider council.
Essential qualifications/experience -
Part accountancy qualification or AAT or similar accountancy, vocational or business qualification. At least two years previous experience in a finance environment with working knowledge of Financial Management Systems, cash management processes and card payment processing. Detailed working knowledge of Crystal Reports. Proven analytical skills and good communication skills. Working knowledge of project management approaches and techniques.
Desirable qualifications/experience –
project management qualification. At least two years previous experience in a local government finance environment. Experience of working with Civica Financials, AIM Cash Management (Capita) and Adelante Card Systems.
