An exciting opportunity has arisen at Runnymede Borough Council in the newly modernised Housing Benefit Department. This role requires an aptitude to customer service to support Runnymede residents when applying for Council Tax Support and Housing Benefit. You will be part of a newly formed team and be responsible for processing the more straightforward applications for Council Tax Support, Housing Benefit and Discretionary Housing Payments.
You will need to flexible, friendly and adapt your work style to our customer’s needs and have the ability to learn complex legislation and experience working on various IT systems. It would be desirable if you have previous Housing Benefit experience however not essential as on the job training will be given.
You will be our resident’s first point of contact which will be spent as the face of our Benefits team on reception as well as working with our Assessment team dealing with enquiries from the public by telephone and email. Therefore you will need to be happy working under pressure, have good numerical reasoning skills and a willingness to collaborate with innovative working methods.
