We are looking for a talented individual to assist the Area Team Leaders in the management of our Area Teams and contribute to the delivery of a customer focused service. An experienced senior planner, ideally with project management and/or experience of dealing with complex planning applications, you will join our Development Management Team, which deals with over 3500 planning applications a year.
As one of the busiest Planning Authorities in the country, with a draft Strategic Plan identifying major development in the Green Belt and plans to redevelop the city centre, it’s an exciting time to join us.
You will take a lead on the consideration and negotiation of complex planning applications to facilitate the implementation of the Local Plan, and provide professional expertise at Committees, Planning Appeals and Enforcement cases as required. This includes making delegated decisions, presenting to committees, engaging with colleagues, Councillors and other stakeholders to ensure the right planning outcome.
With Chartered membership of the RTPI and considerable experience in the field, you will work on a range of planning cases involving Conservation Areas, Listed Building and large developments. Excellent negotiation skills and a flexible approach to work are essential to this post.
