Following the promotion of the current postholder we now have an exciting opportunity in Sefton Council for a new Team manager in our Independent safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Service Manager (Independent Safeguarding Children and Quality Assurance Service) and will line manage the 10 Independent Reviewing Officers. They will also oversee the work of the designated officer and work with the Quality assurance manager based in the unit
In Sefton, the Independent Reviewing Officers (IRO’s) hold caseloads of Looked after children as well as undertaking the role of chairing multi-agency child protection case conferences and reviews. The team has a strong desire to be outstanding in all they do and so you would be key to delivering many new initiatives and promoting best practice in the areas of child safeguarding and for Looked after children.
You will possess ssignificant experience of leading and managing a team with credible competency, including in professional supervision. You will have a good understanding of Looked after children and safeguarding procedures and be able to support the improvement in practice across the team and the partnership through which the team works.
If successful, you will also be required to apply for an Enhanced Criminal Record Check from the Disclosure and Barring Service. Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults across the Borough.
