If so, then becoming an Enabling Support Worker on our ‘causal bank’ may be the post for you… 

Rotherham Reablement Service works with people in the community to help them learn new skills or increase confidence in their daily activities. The people we see may have experienced a spell of ill health or change in their circumstances so need some short term support to allow them to return to previous levels of independence. 

Enabling Support Workers see people in their own home and provide this direct support to them. This may include help with daily activities such as washing and dressing or getting a meal, but could equally involve support to identify and join local community groups. The aim of the service is to promote the person’s overall wellbeing, providing every opportunity for people to lead happy, healthy and independent lives. 

We are looking to recruit a number of Enabling Support Workers on casual contracts. This means that work is available by the hour and can vary from one day to the next depending on the demands on the service and the availability of staff. For the successful applicants this means that work can be arranged flexibly around your own commitments. 

We are registered with the Care Quality Commission with an overall ‘good’ rating but we are working towards achieving an ‘outstanding’ rating. The enthusiasm and commitment of our staff – hopefully including you! - should help us to achieve this in future. 

The successful applicants will be joining a supportive and motivated team who value learning and work in close partnership with other professionals in the area. A full induction and training is provided as well as regular supervision and team meetings. You will need to have your own car but will claim expenses for mileage done, and you will also be provided with a uniform.
