About the Role
This is a great opportunity to use your management skills to streamline an effective service and be creative in making improvements that will directly impact service users. As a team manager you must be able to lead and motivate your Care Leavers’ Team, ensuring communication across all parties in order to implement the statutory duties and responsibilities to high standards.
The Care Leavers’ Service is a countywide service made up of five teams. As the Team Manager you will join and manage a team of personal advisers working from one of our three offices. You will be expected to travel around the county as required.
You will be a pro-active analytical thinker, with experience of working within a multi-agency context as well as having a sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. You will also need to be a strong team worker, who brings ideas for service delivery and in partnership with young people.
You must have/demonstrate additional knowledge and experience of asylum/immigration legislation, policy and processes to assist the team with assessments, planning and supporting Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and Care Leavers.
This Team Manager role will include:
- Managing, supervising and developing staff to enhance performance
- Developing and providing services which are culturally sensitive and empowering for all service users
- Developing new services, where necessary, with partner agencies
- Initiating, planning, managing and implementing change
- Establishing Quality Assurance and Performance Management frameworks
- Using your own initiative, working under pressure and managing time and resources
- Working flexibly including working some evenings (usually by prior arrangement)
- Be eligible to work within in the UK
- That you are a qualified social worker with HCPC and have a social work degree
- A broad knowledge of social work practice and legislation, including safeguarding
