We are looking for an experienced individual to help the Enterprise Zone (EZ) Manager with managing and coordinating the roll out of the Hertfordshire Enterprise Zone. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to be part of Hertfordshire’s biggest economic growth project. It is an exciting, fast paced project with linkage to a wide range of political and strategic objectives and stakeholders, spanning both the public and private sectors. The project touches many aspects of economic development and there is scope to bring initiative and creative thinking to help shape outcomes.

About the EZ project:

The EZ is a 25 year project which will generate around £100m of income through business rates retained from future occupiers, much of which will be invested in the economic development of the area. The project is forecast to deliver around 8,000 new jobs in key growth sectors, and is at the heart of the Hemel Garden Community growth area of 10,000 new homes, together creating the biggest growth project in the county for several years.

Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) is recruiting this post on behalf of Hertfordshire LEP

About the role:

The Project Exec will need to work creatively and independently to coordinate and deliver several aspects of the project. These range from engaging with landowners to support commercial development and liaising with prospect occupiers, to facilitating implementation of the EZ skills plan, to securing adoption of the recommendations within the EZ digital strategy, and to reporting of outcomes to stakeholders and government. The EZ Manager would support the EZ Project Exec in ensuring alignment with the wider EZ project objectives, but the Exec would be expected to work independently, based from a variety of locations and with a variety of stakeholders, demonstrating experience and creative thinking to overcoming challenges and implement the project work streams.

Project initiatives need to be delivered in a credible and robust manner, helping create a compelling offer for future businesses.

The EZ Project Executive will receive a range of enquires from businesses, partners and local stakeholders including politicians. The Project Exec will need to be able to respond to a range of enquiries in detail, using creative selling skills and strong communication to promote the benefits of the EZ to a range of interested parties.
