Horsham District Council are looking for an Information Governance Officer to work within the Legal Services team and who will be responsible for managing and monitoring public requests for information.
As an Information Governance Officer you will co-ordinate corporate wide requests for information and prepare written responses to requests citing relevant exemptions and exceptions as appropriate. You will also liaise and train departmental information representatives, maintain and update their knowledge, and inform them of developments and legal requirements relating to Information Governance. You will be the main point of contact for communications with the Information Commissioner’s Office in respect of matters, including investigations and enforcement action.
To succeed as an Information Governance Officer you will have significant experience of working in this area and full and up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation, including the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Data Protection Act 2018, General Data Protection Regulations and Environmental Information Regulations.
You will have good IT and administration experience, be able to communicate effectively with a range of people, be able to work to deadlines and have the ability to respond successfully to change.
