You will be part of a team responsible for the billing, collection and recovery of Council Tax and Business Rates. You will be customer focussed, empathetic but assertive and confident in communicating both verbally and in writing, in order to deliver successful outcomes for customers and for the Council.
You will support the Customer Service team by providing advice and support for Council Tax and Business Rates queries. You will also help to maintain our records so that we can issue bills promptly and accurately. This will include:
- Setting up new accounts and closing old accounts
- Granting exemptions and discounts
- Taking payments
- Answering both written and verbal enquiries
- Assisting in activities relating to the billing and collection of Council Tax and Business Rates
The successful applicant will be flexible and adaptable, and possess the ability to learn complex legislation. Previous experience of working within a Revenues/Customer Service environment is desirable although not essential, as full training can be provided. The salary offered will be reflective of qualifications and experience.
