About the Role
This is an exciting time to join the Growth Zone Team - a team specifically established to focus on and ensure the successful delivery of 46 new projects ranging from transport improvements, public realm, meanwhile use, cycling enhancements, art and culture. Funding has been secured to help the council revitalise, reshape and regenerate our Town centre and corridors to create places where people want to live and work, build social capital, enhance cultural vibrancy and promote economic development, whilst empowering communities to have greater involvement in decision making.
Working as part of Growth Zone team, the Culture Project Manager will be responsible for development and delivery of the Culture Programme. They will also be responsible for leading and supporting other related projects that compliment art and culture in the borough.
Applicants need to have detailed knowledge of Cultural aspects and settings with the ability to:
Lead on the development and delivery of a borough wide cultural programme ensuring that solutions and approaches are viable and support the Growth Zone and borough’s wider priorities
Review art/cultural projects at key stages, identifying key issues including risks and adjusting plans to manage these issues
Work with a wide range of relevant internal and external stakeholders
Lead on discussions with cultural partners and key stakeholders
Align activity with other Growth Zone’s work streams and partners across the borough to ensure effective outcomes are delivered for Croydon’s businesses and residents
Seek, manage and maximise external funding from central government or other funding bodies
Prepare detailed business cases, including option appraisal, feasibility study, Project Initiation Document, Project Plan, Implementation Plan, Risk Register and any other associated documents which support the delivery of projects and the programme
Maintain close links with the community, elected members and officers working in the relevant areas to ensure the Council’s ambitions are delivered
Operate within the governance, financial and legal frameworks of the Council at all times.
