You will provide care and support to older people within a residential home with a range of individual needs, including providing services to people with Mental Health, ie Dementia and challenging behaviour.
You will assist clients in personal care and contribute to a comfortable and stimulating living environment in accordance with dignity in care principles. You will also carry out personal and intimate duties for individual service users.
You will provide sensitive care and support sickness, palliative illness and death for residents and relatives.
You will assist service users to care for personal clothing by laundering, pressing, cleaning, repairing and escort and assist service users, in and around the home and in the community.
You will preserve the privacy and dignity of each individual service user, informing senior staff of any matters which arise and help each service user to understand his/her overall situation and adopt a positive life outlook promoting a person centred approach and encourage residents to maintain a degree of independence.
You will assist with the administration of medicines as required and undertake a range of housekeeping tasks and serve meals to residents, ensuring dietary requirements are met and prepare meals and light refreshments as required.
You will assist and support residents and service users to actively access a range of therapeutic activities and participate in other off site activities.
You will maintain records including care plans and assessment records and make sure that confidentiality of personal information is maintained and also maintain health and safety taking safety precautions at all times.
