Our Highways team aims to provide a high quality road network for the region. By ensuring our highways are safe for the public, we help make Central Bedfordshire a great place to work and live. We are an ambitious local authority with a large amount of growth which must be enabled through infrastructure projects such as the A421 dualling project.
You will lead on the Council's Term Contract for Highway Services and other highway contracts in relation to setting targets for professional services and Works, including agreeing target prices, analysing applications, overseeing open book accounts, applying indexation, quantifying early warnings, compensation events and recommending star rates.
You will be proficient in the financial aspects of the conditions of contract and contract principles for highways contracts and have experience in New Engineering Contracts (NEC3) Engineering Contract suite of documents.
Your strong comunication skills will allow you to present information on the project and also influence others and negotiate in order to drive value for money improvements for the Council.
