The positon of Property, Development & Business Growth Manager is a new and important role that provides the opportunity for you to make your mark and deliver results which make a tangible difference. 

About the role

In this exciting role, you will have considerable scope to utilise your commercial mind-set and implement innovation. You’ll be responsible for leading major projects to secure significant Council, other public sector and private investment to bring forward and implement borough development. You will also undertake a wholesale review of the Council’s assets. 

On an operational level, you’ll be responsible for leading a professional team of c10 permanent staff who will look to you for leadership and a clear sense of direction. On a project by project basis, you will also be responsible for professional and technical teams, made up of external consultants. 

About you

You will be a Chartered Surveyor - preferably with a commercial focus and experience of development. Key to your success will be your experience of working in property, economic development, estate functions and business engagement. You will need to have drive, resilience and be able to work at a fast pace with an understanding of how a local authority works - as well as budgets, and the political environment. If you have the leaderships skills, commercial acumen and ability to manage complex relationships - together with a demonstrable track record of delivering results in property and commercial development, we would welcome an application from you.
