We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with outstanding communication skills and a passion for PR in our busy communications team.
Writing news releases and copy for our internal and external magazines is just part of the story.
In this hands-on role, you’ll uphold and enhance our reputation by answering media enquiries, running media briefings and identifying news and issues that require advance planning.
You’ll develop our social networking presence, update and improve our website and intranet sites, assist with surveys and other research and contribute to Council-wide working groups and campaigns and marketing plans.
You will need the confidence to build relationships with senior management, journalists and Councillors, and of course have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You should be motivated, creative, well organised and have an interest in local government and public service.
In return you will be supported, trained and developed in your role.
This position is ideally suited to an individual who is committed to a career in PR and would therefore be suitable for someone with PR or journalism or marketing experience.
