East Devon is independently recognised as an outstanding place and so it follows that its council must also strive to be outstanding. Everything we do is aimed at ensuring that East Devon is a place that people want to live in, work in, visit and enjoy. Our ambition is to be an outstanding council which works together with local people to create great value services and an outstanding community, economy and environment for East Devon, now and for future generations.
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic customer focused Administrator to assist our support services team. The team is responsible for helping people to live independently at home through our teams of Mobile Support Officers and you’ll play a key role in helping us to achieve this through the provision of high quality administration dealing with a range of support tasks.
You will assist in resolving enquiries from the public by phone and email, maintaining records, ordering goods and services, and from time to time recording minutes from meetings. You will also provide support in the co-ordination of booking community centres and helping Mobile Support Officers to run events for our customers.
You will have a good standard of education to GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office. You will have the ability to take notes at meetings to produce and circulate minutes and have excellent attention to detail, particularly when working to tight deadlines. You’ll be someone who is customer focussed, discreet and be able to show empathy towards our customers when resolving their queries.
You’ll also need to hold a valid driving licence to be able to travel to meetings as required (reasonable adjustments may be possible according to the Equality Act).
Closing date: 9th December 2018. Interviews will be held on 18th December 2018.
