More About the role:
We are looking to recruit a Housing Register Officer to work within the Council’s front line Housing Solutions Team.
As a Housing Register Officer you will provide comprehensive housing advice to customers and staff. You will have your own caseload and work closely with your applicants to support them to find alternative accommodation. You will be responsible for assessing Housing Register applications according to the Council’s Housing Allocations Scheme and will assist residents, helping them to find suitable, alternative accommodation and empowering the residents of Central Bedfordshire to live independently. You can find your greatness by ensuring a person-centred approach to our residents, by meeting housing need and by contributing to the prevention of homelessness.
The successful candidate is required to have experience in a Housing or support role environment as well as knowledge of Housing Allocations Legislation and practice. The candidate must be an organised, innovative and dedicated to improving service delivery with a customer focus by providing real solutions for people in housing need.
The role requires A Level or equivalent qualification, or experience of the key job responsibilities. It is essential that the post holder has the ability to listen, have an understanding of the customer perspective and is able to work well under pressure, they will be required to operate a large caseload and must be able to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
