Hays Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be working in partnership with Compass Point Business Services (CPBS) who are experts in delivering first-class front and back-office services to South Holland and East Lindsay District Councils. They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join their team and be based at South Holland District Council Offices, Priory Road, Spalding, Lincolnshire. CPBS are in the process of finalising a new 10-year contract with both clients.
As a business, Compass Point pride themselves on first class service delivery across all of their functions which include IT, HR, Customer Service, Revenue & Benefits and of course Finance. Due to wanting to maintain this level of service for their clients, they are now looking to add a Finance Business Partner to their finance team. You will report to the Strategic Finance Business Partner and you will play a pivotal role and be a key member of the finance team, helping collate and deliver accurate financial information to both Councils.
As a Finance Business Partner, one of your key responsibilities will be to monitor, manage and report on budgets, giving advice and support to your clients whilst doing this. There will also be elements of financial analysis work in which you will be working closely with the Strategic Finance Business Partner to support them on a wide variety of projects. Your wider remit in this role will mean you need to keep up to date and advise clients on financial issues in the outside world that may affect the business, including government legislation.
The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified and have the commitment and ambition to further continue their studies to achieve full qualification which will be linked to pay progression. You will have strong skills in accounting, financial reporting and have previous experience within business partnering. Be able to deal with a range of key stakeholders across both Councils and be commercially aware. Good attention to detail is also required including being conversant with Microsoft Excel. Experience within local government, however, is essential to be successful in this role.
