We are looking for four enthusiastic and self-motivate people to join our busy Benefits service based in Sevenoaks. We administer over 12,000 housing benefit (HB) and council tax reduction (CTR) customers in a joint partnership between Dartford Borough Council and Sevenoaks District Council.
You will ideally have current experience of calculating and assessing all types of HB and CTR applications and an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of HB/CTR rules and regulations. However, we will consider applicants that don’t have this knowledge but do have current experience of general office work and have good numeracy skills.
You will also want to be part of a dedicated team who provides first class customer service and your approach must be flexible as well as appreciating the importance of working both as part of that team and being able to work on your own initiative.
You will accurately assess all types of HB/CTR applications and also give information and advice to customers on related enquiries, both on the telephone and to personal callers.
Your experience will ideally include the use of the Academy (Capita) Benefits system and document management systems. You will need to have a good standard of education and also be computer literate.
A baseline security check will be required for this role.
