Bright Start Nursery is based in the vibrant North Laine of Brighton, close to Jubilee library and the Prince Regent swimming pool. We are a busy full day care setting working with a diverse cohort of families and children. We are looking for a Room Leader for our Adventurers Room working with children ages 2.5 to 5 years.
We pride ourselves on providing a friendly welcome and being an inclusive environment in which everyone can thrive. Our staff team are committed to providing high quality play and learning experiences, and are passionate about promoting children’s rights and well-being.
We work in partnership with Brighton & Hove inclusion support service, children’s centres, social workers and speech and language therapists as well as other health care professionals to provide on-going support to children and their families.

Applicants must be qualified to a minimum level 3, though study at a higher level would be desirable too, and you should hold function skills, or GSCE in English and Maths. We are enthusiastic about facilitating our practitioners to develop their knowledge and gain qualifications.
You will need to be an excellent communicator with co-workers, parents, and other professionals, and be sensitive to the needs of young children. As well as being a key person for a group of children, you will lead in running sessions, planning a stimulating curriculum and supporting staff on a day –to-day basis. You will be a leader in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage working closely with the Management team and Deputy Room Leaders.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of early year’s leadership and will have developed their own ideas and abilities around how to motivate a team. Experience of working with children with SEND, or English as an additional language, is very welcome. You will also be a key holder for the building with responsibilities for locking up and implementing health and safety procedures.
