Are you an experienced Mayoral Attendant or Chauffeur seeking a new opportunity?

We are seeking to appoint two suitably experienced Mayoral Attendant/Chauffeur to support the Mayor/Mayoress of Halton in carrying out their civic duties.

You will be responsible for driving the Mayor/Mayoress to and from civic engagements and in doing so will use your excellent organisational and planning skills to meet strict timescales; whilst ensuring a safe arrival and dignified reception.

As an experienced Mayoral Attendant or Chauffeur you will be familiar with civic protocols and will be courteous and polite in your manner. With a sound understanding of the need for confidentiality you will be discreet and diplomatic in your interactions with both the Mayor and other attendees of civic engagements.

You will undertake the specialist cleaning and maintenance of the Mayoral vehicle in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications, including maintaining appropriate records to ensure that the presentation is maximised and therefore some knowledge of car maintenance and care is desirable.

You will also co-ordinate and monitor the regular servicing of the Mayoral vehicle to ensure that it remains in a roadworthy condition.

In addition, you will be required to play an active role in Council and Civic occasions by acting as the Authority’s Mace Bearer, and from time to time, the toast master or master of ceremonies. You will support the smooth running of Council and Civic occasions by ensuring the Mayor’s Parlour is well presented and stocked.

Due to the nature of the role and civic engagements being held at various times, outside of normal working hours, a flexible approach to work is required.

A full, clean, driving licence is essential.

If you feel that you have the requisite skills and experience to succeed in this role, we’d love to hear from you.
